Bestie has been wanting to go Halia for sometime ever since she heard about it from her neighbour.
For me, it was my second time there.
The first time i went was back in early 2004 for hb’s birthday. Uh huh.. that long already!
But from what i can recall, i love the ambience but not the mosquitos. And today, i still feel the same. Daytime, night time.. no difference at all. The dang mosquitos just couldn’t leave me alone! >.<
If not for the mosquitos, i must say.. it’s a perfect place to chill out. Away from the crowds.. lots of green. Nice :)
We had 1 x English hi tea set — non re-fillable! :( — instead of 2 because bestie didn’t want to indulge in too much desserts. She was ravenous and preferred to eat something heavier rather than just desserts.
The selection was a tad pathetic.
For $18++, they could have given a few more sandwiches / pastries / cakes!
Nevertheless, the quality of the cakes, pastries and sandwiches weren’t too bad. They were pretty yummy actually except for 2 cakes which i found too sweet for our liking and nowhere near fanciful!
Well.. to be fair, at least they bothered to warm the pastries and scones before serving ;)

Apart from the hi-tea set, we had beef steak sandwich too which was quite okie. I requested for extra olive virgin oil for the bread. I had them deconstructed :P
Overall, i personally feel it’s a very nice place for a quiet afternoon.. to just nibble on the food and chit chat over a cup of tea. But not the mosquitos though! Towards the end of our session, i was scratching unglamourly almost non stop! :(
The very photogenic and sweet looking bestie. Unfortunately, i’m nothing like her. Hehe.. which explains why there isn’t any photos of me. I didn’t bother to even take any :P
