Minced pork with salted egg yolk
Recipe from The Sunday Times 2 weeks ago.
I like minced pork, steamed, no less. It complements very well with dong cai too. That’s like my childhood food. One of my favourite childhood food to be exact. I can eat 2 bowls of rice just with it, but it has to be mixed evenly with the white rice plus lots of its salty gravy! –not gross at all, k? Do give it a try if u’re game! ;p –
I’ve always wanted to try minced pork with salted egg. In fact, i actually wanted to experiment the dish myself just few days before. So when i saw the recipe on Sunday 2 weeks ago, i knew i had to try it out, on that very day.. Armed with my 4 days old salted egg sitting on the pantry, i was really bent on it. Hee.
The minced pork turned out beautifully.
As i ate it with my bowl of rice, i got drifted back to the days when i had it as a little girl, right in front of the tv set together with my other sisters. Often enough, we’d compete against each other ; who could eat the fastest, who can eat the most (explains my inhuman appetite, aye? ^.^) and etc.
Sigh.
I really miss my family :(
p.s : i always mince my pork — i usually use pork loin –, manually, with parang. i cannot imagine doing it using blender!
