I think that there's not enough matcha in the recipe. I have tried making Eric Kayser's matcha tart several times, with three different matchas (including one that I ordered directly from Japan) and I've always increased the amount from 2 tsp to 2 tbsp. And you probably know this, but matcha must be used right away once opened... That matcha cake looks too delicious for words.
I think that there’s not enough matcha in the recipe.
