Hee.

I very thick skin hor?

Say disaster still wanna post this entry up :P

carbonara

Can you tell why exactly i called it a failure?

No??

Let’s try again.

carbonara1

Can see better now aye?

Uh huh… it’s the egg yolk bits!

It was my first attempt on carbonara after getting hold of the 1kg single cream. Like the boys, i don’t quite like Campbell Mushroom Soup with pasta anymore – the quickest and easiest to get your carbonara fix! Hehehehhehehehe :P

Hence me attempting on the real thang…

While it didn’t look that good, it tasted rather delicious! The boys and i polished off the whole lot ourselves in a heart beat. But what i’d like to add the next time is sauteed mushrooms and a dash of truffle oil – in my shopping list already! I can’t wait :D

So, what did i do wrong here?

Not mixing the egg yolk and cream mixture well before pouring it into the pan!

I was in hurry. The pan was sizzling hot so i just dumped the whole mixture in and stirred it right there and then. By the time i realized my mistake, it was too late. No matter how rigorously i stirred then, the egg yolk bits were already formed :(

So yupyup, mix your cream and yolks well, and hopefully, you’ll get the perfect smooth and creamy looking pasta carbonara ;)

p.s : oh please ignore the blueish picture. it was dinner!

I watched Jamie Oliver cooked this on tv. He turned off the heat before mixing the egg-cream mixture so that the egg will not be “cooked”. But your pasta still looked delicious, nonetheless!
